The grandstand at the Yantai Wanhua large equipment lifting site was packed. More than 100 project leaders and guests from Sinopec, XCMG Group, the Wanhua Yantai Industrial Park, and engineering and construction owners nationwide held their breath in rapt attention, focusing together on the commissioning ceremony of the 4,000-tonne-class crawler crane and the lifting of the propylene tower at the Wanhua Yantai Industrial Park.

    The propane dehydrogenation unit lifted this time is the heaviest and most difficult lift in the entire project. The propylene tower equipment reached a lifting height of 118 meters, with a diameter of 14.4 meters and a total lifting weight of 1,680 tonnes. The XCMG XGC88000 has a maximum lifting moment of 88,000 t·m and is currently the crane with the largest lifting capacity in the world. This lift used a 108-meter heavy-duty main boom, a 33-meter fixed jib, and a working radius of 30 meters, making it the only mobile lifting equipment in the world capable of meeting the requirements of this integrated lift. At the same time, the XGW1100 1,000-tonne-class special-purpose tailing machine supporting the XGC88000 is dedicated equipment jointly developed by Sinopec and XCMG for heavy-lift projects, and this was its first use in an actual project. After a lifting process lasting nearly four hours, the huge tank-shaped propane dehydrogenation unit stood steadily upright at the construction site. Bursts of applause erupted from the grandstand: the first project application of the 4,000-tonne crawler crane and the 1,000-tonne tailing machine had been successfully completed!

    The Yantai Wanhua Industrial Park project involves coal chemicals, salt chemicals, and fine chemicals. Once completed and put into operation, its isocyanate (MDI) production capacity will reach 1.4 million tonnes, firmly ranking among the world's top three. It will effectively reduce domestic dependence on imported raw materials and strongly enhance the competitiveness and international influence of China's isocyanate industry products. As one of the main contractors of the project, Sinopec Tenth Construction Co., Ltd., known as the "iron army" of the petrochemical industry, ranks among the top in China in lifting and transportation capability and track record, and is also highly influential internationally. It has also had the honor of becoming part of the Chinese dream of rejuvenation.
