On July 8, China Railway held a launching ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, for a shield tunneling machine participating in the construction of the local rail transit project, introducing this tunnel boring equipment, independently designed and manufactured by China, to Malaysia.

The project China Railway is participating in this time is the underground section of the Kuala Lumpur Light Rapid Transit project. Zhou Mengbo, Vice President of China Railway Corporation, said at the launching ceremony that the tunnel boring equipment used this time was independently designed, developed, and manufactured by China Railway and has fully independent intellectual property rights. Under the same geological conditions, it can not only greatly improve work efficiency but also has advantages such as safety and environmental friendliness.

Zhou Mengbo said that the project being built this time is one of the municipal facility projects in which China Railway has invested the most technical resources overseas and to which it attaches the highest importance.

Cai Zemin, General Manager of China Railway Malaysia, told reporters that in addition to deploying independently developed and produced shield tunneling machines, China Railway also participated in the design work of the projects it undertook.
