On August 30, the closure ceremony of the Liangshui Grand Bridge was held. As the most important controlling project of the Huinan-Baishan Expressway, the Liangshui Grand Bridge, after more than 500 days and nights of continuous efforts by over 800 builders, was successfully closed at 24:00 on August 19, marking the full completion of the 79.449-kilometer Huinan-Baishan Expressway.
The Huinan-Baishan Expressway is a section of the Huinan-Linjiang Expressway, a project connecting the provincial capital Changchun with prefectures via expressways, and an important national defense strategic corridor in eastern Jilin Province. The Liangshui Grand Bridge is located in Liangshuihe Town, Liuhe County, Jilin Province, and is currently the tallest bridge with the largest single-span length in the three northeastern provinces. Among them, Pier No. 7, the main pier of the bridge, is 94 meters high, Pier No. 8 is 88 meters high, and the maximum bridge height is 103.5 meters. The bridge consists of two separated four-lane bridges, with the left line 861 meters long and the right line 901 meters long, and a total deck width of 11.75 meters.
At present, construction workers are making every effort to complete the remaining pavement, signs, markings, and other works, ensuring the early opening of the Huitougou-Baishan section of the Huinan-Baishan Expressway on September 28 and the full completion and opening of the entire line by the end of October.
