The Tianjin New Badali Heiniucheng Road Underground Passage (China), organized and implemented by Tianjin Metro Group and constructed by China Railway Tunnel Group Co., Ltd., has been nominated for the "Innovative Underground Space Development and Application of the Year" award. What is in the underground space here that earned an international award nomination? What kind of "magic weapons" are used to build the underground passage crossing the expressway?
The Tianjin New Badali area is located on the north and south sides of Heiniucheng Road, adjacent to Tiangang Liulin in the east and the Cultural Center in the west. In the future, New Badali will become a city center business district integrating corporate offices, business leisure, and livable community functions.
It is understood that Heiniucheng Road crosses the central part of the New Badali area horizontally. Considering that Heiniucheng Road is an expressway carrying a large traffic volume, the city will construct the subway stations planned in the Tianjin rail transit network in this area simultaneously with the New Badali project, which not only meets the close connection between the subway project and surrounding projects but also reduces the construction difficulty of the subway project.
The supporting underground projects in the New Badali area of Heiniucheng Road include Neijiang Road Station of Metro Line 11, Heiniucheng Road Station of Metro Line 12, the underground passage crossing Heiniucheng Road, and the sunken plaza on the east side of Qili. Among them, Neijiang Road Station is located between Sanli and Sili in the area, under Neijiang Road, east to the boundary of the Sili plot, south to the planned Mujiang Road, west to the boundary of the Sanli plot, and north to Heiniucheng Road. The four entrances and exits are respectively from the Sanli and Sili plots. Heiniucheng Road Station is located between Dagu South Road and Heiniucheng Road, under Dongting Road, east to Haijin Bridge, south to Heiniucheng Road, west to the boundary of the Liuli plot, and north to Dagu South Road. The underground passage crossing Heiniucheng Road is located under Heiniucheng Road, connecting the Sanli plot on the south side and the Qili plot on the north side. The underground passage has a total length of about 172.05 meters, providing good traffic support for the north and south sides of Heiniucheng Road planned for New Badali. The sunken plaza on the east side of Qili is located on the east side of Qili, east to the planned Neijiang North Road, south to the planned Zijiang Road, west to the boundary of the Qili plot, and north to the planned Zeting Road. This sunken plaza is an urban landscape node, connecting the pedestrian passage and the Liuli and Qili plots, and is a traffic and landscape node in the overall plan.
Since Heiniucheng Road is a major expressway with busy traffic and dense underground pipelines, in order not to affect normal traffic and avoid pipeline relocation, the underground passage pioneeringly introduced the super-large cross-section rectangular pipe jacking method. The underground passage crossing Heiniucheng Road is 92.6 meters long, and the pipe jacking construction dimensions are 10.42 meters × 7.57 meters. It is currently the largest cross-section rectangular pipe jacking tunnel in Asia and the first time Tianjin has used a super-large cross-section rectangular pipe jacking machine for construction. The long-distance, super-large cross-section pipe jacking machine excavation reduces disturbance to the original stratum and minimizes ground and pipeline deformation, ensuring the driving safety of Heiniucheng Road.
