I. Drilling Rig Installation

1. The site for installing the drilling rig should be level and solid. If the rig is to be installed on soft ground, the foundation should be treated and then sleepers laid to ensure the rig's stability during operation, so as to prevent local settlement during drilling that would affect drilling accuracy.

2. When installing the drilling rig, the frame must be kept level.

3. After the drilling position is confirmed to be correctly set, first attach four guy ropes to the top of the mast, then raise the mast. After the mast is raised, secure the lower mast section, then extend the upper mast section, and after securing and installing the upper and lower mast sections and the tie rods, fasten the guy ropes. Turnbuckles may be used to adjust the tension of the guy ropes so that the mast stands upright and does not lean (when raising the mast with the dedicated winch for the main mast, the action must be slow).

4. After the mast is erected, screw out the jack at the bottom of the mast so that the load is transmitted through the jack to the support base.

II. Inspection Before Starting

1. Check the correctness of all mechanisms of the drilling rig and add lubricating oil to all lubrication points and oil nipples.

2. Release all friction clutches and remove any irrelevant objects from the rig.

3. Check the rotation direction of the motor. When observing the motor from the pulley side, the motor should rotate clockwise.

4. All kinds of safety guards must be complete.

5. Run the rig idle for 3-5 min, and start drilling only after everything is normal.

III. Notes for Operators

1. Do not work when the machine is in poor condition.

2. Do not use a slipping friction clutch, so as to prevent wear of the friction plates.

3. After braking the winch drum, release it intermittently to lower the drill bit into the hole; do not let it fall freely. Frequently check the wire rope for damage; if broken wires exceed 5%, replace it promptly. The tungsten alloy sleeve should be subjected to a tensile test. The number of clips connecting the wire rope to the drill bit should be installed according to equal strength.

4. During lowering, if the drilling tool stops, it should not be left suspended in the air; instead, raise the drilling tool and then lower it again.

5. After screwing on the drilling tool, in order to check the threaded connection at the joint, a marking line must be made with a chisel.

6. Before the drilling tool is lowered to the bottom of the hole, check that the drill bit is correctly installed and that there are no cracks, etc., on the drilling tool.

7. To avoid premature wear and damage to the machine, do not use drilling tools heavier than those specified in the manual during operation.

8. To prevent the drilling tool from not being clamped, it must not be left at the bottom of the hole when not working.

9. During operation, pay attention to whether the tension of the tie rod is normal. Do not work when the tie rod is slack, so as to prevent damage to the mast.

10. When working with two pulleys in the wire rope pulley block, in order to distribute the mast load evenly, the pulleys on both sides should bear the load while the middle pulley can move freely.

IV. Safety Technology During Drilling Rig Operation

1. The drilling work site should be kept clean.

2. During installation and dismantling of the drilling rig, correctness and completeness must be ensured.

3. When raising or lowering the mast of the drilling rig, operators should stand in a safe position.

4. When starting the motor, all friction clutches of the drilling rig should be released.

5. When the drilling rig is working, it is strictly prohibited to remove the protective covers.

6. Before starting work, check the reliability of the braking device and the working performance of the friction clutch and starting device.

7. Do not inspect the drilling rig before the motor has stopped.

8. When the drilling rig is working, it is strictly prohibited to tighten any parts of the rig.

9. When the drilling rig is running, it is strictly prohibited to add oil. Lubrication of the upper part of the mast should be carried out when the rig is stopped.

10. Do not work on the mast before the motor has stopped.

11. Under no circumstances should other personnel remain below the mast while someone is working on it.

12. In severe weather, do not work on the mast.

13. It is strictly prohibited to use wire rope with broken strands.

14. When raising or lowering the drilling tool, it is strictly prohibited to touch the wire rope with hands.

15. When stopping work, the drilling tool should be taken out of the hole.
