The 14th Regiment to Tazhong Desert Highway project has a total length of 136 kilometers and a total investment of 585 million yuan, and is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic in August 2020. The project is an important component of the national highway network in southern Xinjiang. Its construction is of great significance for connecting Aral City of the First Division with the Tazhong Oil Base and improving the road network structure, and will play a positive role in promoting the development of the 14th Regiment.
It is reported that historically, the 14th Regiment was an important node on the famous "Kucha (Kuqa)-Yutian (Hotan) Route" of the ancient Silk Road and has profound historical heritage. In recent years, the regiment has experienced rapid economic development, achieved remarkable results in new urbanization, and increasingly improved infrastructure.
