According to reports, the claim that Zhejiang Province will build China's first super highway has recently been officially confirmed. The super highway to be built is the Hangzhou-Ningbo double-track expressway——the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Ningbo Expressway, which has already been approved in sections. The highway will feature four major elements: intelligence, speed, greenness, and safety.
On this super highway, a big-data-driven smart cloud control platform will be built. Through intelligent systems and vehicle management, the operating speed of the expressway will be effectively increased, raising the average vehicle speed by 20—30%.
Not long ago, Gao Xingfu, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, stated that the maximum speed the super highway will ultimately be able to reach will be determined according to the progress of research and development by relevant parties and actual conditions; there is currently no clear regulation. What is worth looking forward to is that this super highway will also fully support autonomous driving in the future, which is currently also leading internationally.
