The Urban Volunteer Service U Station (hereinafter referred to as the "U Station") is an important window for volunteers to serve citizens and an important base for carrying forward the volunteer spirit. Recently, the 2018 U Love Warm Winter Charity Action and the High-speed Rail U Station launch ceremony were held at the Futian High-speed Railway Station.
According to a relevant person in charge of the Futian Volunteer Association, the Futian High-speed Rail U Station is the first U Station in Shenzhen to be set up in an underground space. It is undertaken by the Shenzhen Public Welfare Rescue Volunteer Federation, and its volunteers all possess professional first-aid knowledge. They mainly serve travelers arriving in and departing from Shenzhen. In addition to providing daily convenience services, they also regularly carry out publicity services on safety knowledge such as first aid and self-rescue.
Every year's Spring Festival travel rush is a major event for Shenzhen, a city of migrants, and for every builder who has come to Shenzhen. During the 2018 Spring Festival travel rush, the Shenzhen Volunteer Federation, together with Shenzhen Youyue Radio, jointly launched the "Warm Homecoming, Continuing the Journey of Love, 2018 U Love Warm Winter Charity Action." In addition to the High-speed Rail U Station, caring energy stations will subsequently be set up simultaneously at more than ten U Stations across the city at important transportation hubs and crowded places, including the Luohu Port U Station, Shenzhen West Station, MixC U Station, Nanshan Wenxin Square U Station, Central Book City U Station, and Lianhuashan U Station, to deliver help and warm gift packs to people about to embark on their journey home, so that Shenzhen's warmth is passed on all along the way home.
