On the morning of February 7, the main tower of Zhaohua Xiangjiang Bridge was successfully capped, completing the construction of the 108-meter-high lotus-shaped tower column. A responsible person from the Railway Investment Company of Xiangtan Urban Development Group introduced that the completion of this key node has laid a solid foundation for the cable system construction after the Spring Festival and the planned opening to traffic in the second half of 2018.
Invested and constructed by CCCC Third Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., Zhaohua Xiangjiang Bridge is an asymmetric single-tower self-anchored suspension bridge. As the "Zhaohua Spine", the main tower column is the controlling project of the bridge. The tower column adopts a lotus shape, with a height of 108 meters and a curved elevation. Affected by low temperatures and strong winds during winter construction, the concrete surface is prone to cracking; the tower column elevation is curved, and there is vertical prestressing construction, which brings great difficulty to the tower column construction. In response to the above construction difficulties, the Railway Investment Company and CCCC Third Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. organized technical personnel to carry out technical research, studied the key construction technologies of the lotus-shaped main tower, and determined the construction technology of the lotus-shaped tower column.
Through exploration and research on key technologies such as concrete crack control, vertical prestressing construction, and tower column alignment control of the lotus-shaped tower column, the construction quality of the lotus-shaped tower column was ensured, the construction schedule was guaranteed, and a "Zhaohua Spine" with reliable quality, novel technology, and beautiful appearance was erected.
At the same time, as the approach bridge of Zhaohua Xiangjiang Bridge, the Jiuhua Binjiang Road Overpass completed the pouring of 1,130 cubic meters of C50 concrete for the left 3 spans in over 20 hours, achieving the completion of the Jiuhua Binjiang Road Overpass.
A responsible person from CCCC Third Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. introduced that Zhaohua Xiangjiang Bridge is expected to be completed and open to traffic in 2018. After completion, it will become the widest cross-river channel in the Xiangjiang River basin. The construction of this project is of great significance to improving the road traffic network in the ecological green heart area of the Chang-Zhu-Tan urban agglomeration, accelerating the economic construction of Zhaoshan Demonstration Zone and Jiuhua Economic Development Zone, and promoting the construction of "the hometown of great men, beautiful Xiangtan".
