On January 18, 2018, another milestone was reported for the Shenzhen Metro Line 10 project. Recently, the TBM for the tunnel section between Maling Station and Yabao Station under Contract 1011-3 of Shenzhen Metro Line 10 safely and smoothly reached the receiving shaft at the south end, and the right line of the Shenzhen Metro Line 10 tunnel beneath Jigongshan has broken through, marking a decisive victory in the construction of a controlling project along the entire Shenzhen Metro Line 10.
It is reported that Shenzhen Metro Line 10 is a main trunk line of the Shenzhen metro network. Contract 1011-3 spans the three districts of Futian, Longhua, and Longgang, with a total length of 5.36 kilometers. Among this, the section between Maling Station and Yabao Station has a total length of 3.87 kilometers, and 2.8 kilometers of this section is being constructed using the first TBM method in the Shenzhen area. TBM, whose Chinese name is full-face tunnel boring machine, works on the principle of using the cutterhead at the front of the machine to cut rock for tunnel excavation.
