In 2018, Zhejiang will invest 215 billion yuan in transportation, focusing on the development of the "Greater Bay Area, Great Garden, major corridors, and metropolitan areas," advancing major infrastructure projects, and beginning to build a framework of "four ports, three corridors, four hubs, and three systems." This was learned at the Zhejiang Transportation Annual Work Conference held on January 16.
    According to the introduction, the "four ports" are seaports, airports, land ports, and information ports. The "three corridors" are: the Bay Area Corridor around Hangzhou Bay, led by Ningbo Zhoushan Port and adapted to future transportation modes; the Open Corridor, with the Yiwu-Ningbo-Zhoushan and "Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe" corridors as the main axis, connecting with the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt development; and the Beautiful Corridor, supported by the Ten-Thousand-Li Beautiful Economic Transportation Corridor and serving the development of Beautiful Zhejiang and the Great Garden. The "four hubs" include the Hangzhou international comprehensive transportation hub, the Ningbo international comprehensive transportation hub, the Wenzhou national comprehensive transportation hub, and the Jinhua-Yiwu national comprehensive transportation hub. The "three systems" are the multimodal transport system, the intelligent service system, and the modern governance system.
    There are also new measures to benefit the public through transportation. This year, Zhejiang's expressways will pilot differentiated tolling by time period, implementing time-based expressway tolling to improve the overall operating efficiency and safety level of the road network. Truck drivers will also find that this year truck inspection and testing will further implement the merger of annual inspection and annual review for trucks and promote out-of-town inspection and testing of ordinary trucks within the province.
