On January 11, reporters learned from the Provincial Department of Transportation that last year, 9 expressway projects totaling 400 kilometers in our province were completed and put into operation, bringing the province's total expressway mileage to 5,833 kilometers and achieving dual-channel connections between Guiyang and other cities (prefectures). Total mileage ranks 9th nationwide, and comprehensive density ranks 3rd nationwide.

The 9 expressway projects completed and opened to traffic in Guizhou Province in 2017 include: Zunyi to Guiyang (Qingshan to Yangchang section) 101 kilometers, Huaxi to Anshun 89 kilometers, Jiangjin via Xishui to Gulin (Zhaiba to Xishui section) 65 kilometers, Anshun to Ziyun 56 kilometers, Bijie to Erlongguan 37 kilometers, Luodian to Wangmo (Busu to Luosu section) 20 kilometers, Xifeng to Qianxi (Liutong to Tailai section) 12 kilometers, Balakan to Qianxi (Zhongping to Yongshen section) 11 kilometers, and Kaiyang to Xifeng (Wenquan to Kaiyang section) 9 kilometers.

In recent years, Guizhou Province has accelerated the pace of expressway construction. In 2015, it successfully completed the three-year expressway construction campaign and became the first province in western China to achieve expressway access in every county. In 2016, the province added 305 kilometers of new expressway mileage, bringing the total to 5,433 kilometers. In October of the same year, our province issued the "Guizhou Province Expressway Plan (Densification Plan)," striving to build a provincial expressway network featuring "central agglomeration, multi-polar radiation, interconnection, broad coverage, sufficient capacity, and smooth connections," and aiming to exceed 10,000 kilometers of expressway mileage by the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan."
