The reporter learned from the Provincial Department of Transportation on the 11th that the Ministry of Transport has recently approved the preliminary design of the Jiangsu section of the Liyang–Ningde Expressway. A major breakthrough has been made in the project's preliminary work, creating conditions for construction to start this year and further densifying Jiangsu's fast corridor to Anhui.

The Jiangsu section of the Liyang–Ningde Expressway starts from Nandu Town in Liyang City, connecting with the Yangzhou–Liyang Expressway, and ends at Shezhu Town in Liyang City (the Jiangsu–Anhui boundary), linking with the already-built Anhui section of the Liyang–Ningde Expressway, with a total length of approximately 23.699 kilometers. The design speed for the entire line is 120 km/h. The 7.4-kilometer section from the Xinchang interchange at the starting point to the Nandu South interchange will be built to a two-way, six-lane expressway standard; the 16.299-kilometer section from the Nandu South interchange to the endpoint will be built to a two-way, four-lane expressway standard.
