In accordance with the work deployment and arrangements of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Government, and the Provincial Department of Transport on accelerating expressway construction across the province, as of December 29, 2017, six expressways undertaken by Qilu Transportation Development Group have all started construction, including The Lanshan-Luozhuang Expressway expands the economic hinterland of Lanshan Port and promotes the development of the port-related industrial zone; the Xintai-Ningyang section of the Dongliang Highway is an important component of the province's five major east-west corridors, the "Horizontal Line 4". The Dongliang Expressway is a road network densification alignment and plays a certain role in strengthening the connection between coastal areas and the Central Plains Economic Zone and further expanding links to the coastal hinterland; the Laiwu-Tai'an reconstruction and expansion project of the Qinglan Expressway is part of the "Horizontal Line 6" of the 18 east-west trunk lines of the national expressway network, one of China's strategic transport corridors, and an important sea outlet for inland areas; the implementation of the Xintai-Malantun section of the Xintai-Taierzhuang (Shandong-Jiangsu border) Highway project will accelerate poverty alleviation and tourism development in underdeveloped areas along the route and promote economic and social development in the western economic uplift belt; the construction of the Zhanhua-Linzi Expressway will strengthen vertical connections between the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Yangtze River Economic Belt and promote integrated economic development in the Bohai Rim region; the construction of the East Ring Section of the Second Ring Road of the Jinan Ring Expressway plays an important role in alleviating traffic volume on the eastern ring section of the Jinan Ring Expressway of the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and promoting the development of the provincial capital city cluster economic circle. The commencement of construction of the above projects is of great significance for improving the planning and layout of Shandong's road network and promoting regional economic and social development.
With the start of construction of six expressways including the Lanshan-Luozhuang Expressway, the total mileage of expressways under construction undertaken by Qilu Transportation Development Group has reached 1,152 kilometers, with a total investment of 118.4 billion yuan. Qilu Transportation will continue to strengthen development confidence, broaden development ideas, innovate management measures, improve management levels, and ensure the high-quality completion of various major transportation project construction tasks assigned by the provincial government on schedule.
