Building an airport and connecting expressways... Recently, the preliminary plan for Huangshi's comprehensive transportation integration with the Hubei International Logistics Core Hub transportation project has been finalized.
On the 20th of last month, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hubei International Logistics Core Hub project was held in Ezhou City. The commencement of this project will lay the foundation for building the world's fourth and Asia's largest aviation logistics hub. The Hubei International Logistics Core Hub project, with SF Airlines as the main operating company, is only a 10-minute drive from Huangshi's urban area. "Geographically, although the project is located in Ezhou, it radiates to and serves Huangshi, bringing Huangshi new opportunities for the development of the 'airport economy'," analyzed the head of the Municipal Transportation Bureau.
The Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government attach great importance to this project and have studied and deployed it at multiple meetings. The Municipal Transportation Bureau has actively acted and taken the initiative to integrate, and the preliminary plan for Huangshi's comprehensive transportation integration with the Hubei International Logistics Core Hub transportation project has been introduced: building one expressway, six first-class highways, as well as the connection between Qipanzhou New Port and cargo air transport, and the air-to-air connection between the general aviation airport and Ezhou Airport.
Accelerate expressway connection and plan the airport expressway project. In the already compiled comprehensive transportation plan for the Hubei Aviation International Hub project, an airport expressway is planned for the external transportation of the SF Aviation Hub. It starts from SF Airport, connects westward to the Han-E Expressway, and then to the Wu-Huang Expressway at Tingzu, Ezhou. It continues westward through Bishi Town in Ezhou and enters Huandiqiao Town in Huangshi, connecting to the planned Wuyang Expressway, thereby directly covering the Yangtze River Middle Reaches Urban Agglomeration with the radiation range of the international aviation hub through the expressway.
Promote first-class highway connection and plan six channels connecting to the hub airport. These are: the extension of S412 Huangyang Highway connecting to Ezhou Airport first-class highway via Huangshi Hubin Avenue, the S203 Yanjiang Avenue project, the Huangshi Qinghu to Ezhou Tingzu first-class highway, the planned Huangshi Fazhan Avenue to Tieshan first-class highway, the Ezhou Zhaoshan Town via Daye to Airport first-class highway, and the National Highway G106 rerouting and upgrading project.
Focus on building a multimodal transport hub integrating rail, water, road, and air. Accelerate the construction of Qipanzhou Port Area, Yangxin Fuchi Operation Area, etc., and connect with the SF Airport hub through the Yangtze River main channel. In terms of functional positioning, SF will build a hub centered on express transportation, while Qipanzhou Port Area will leverage its advantages in water-rail-road multimodal transport to become a logistics base in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River for bulk cargo, raw material imports, and foreign trade imports and exports, developing complementarily with SF logistics and serving the entire aviation hub logistics park and industrial park.
Promote aviation connection and plan to build a general aviation airport on the south bank of Daye Lake in Huangshi, opening air routes to connect with the SF Airport hub. To meet the regional aviation development needs, promote the sustainable socio-economic development of the eastern Hubei region, and accelerate the tourism development of eastern Hubei and the Huangshi city cluster, a general aviation airport on the south bank of Daye Lake in Huangshi is planned.
The head of the bureau stated that they will seize the opportunity of the Hubei International Logistics Core Hub transportation project construction, take proactive actions, strengthen connection, accelerate integration, actively build multi-mode and multi-directional rapid collection and distribution channels, and comprehensively support the development of Huangshi's 'airport economy'.
