The section from Luoyang East Road to Tianxiang Avenue in Nanchang is being excavated for the construction of Nanchang's first underground utility tunnel. Once completed, gas, power, sewage, and other utilities will be consolidated into this "big pocket" to alleviate the problem of repeated road excavation for pipeline maintenance. On January 5, the reporter visited the utility tunnel construction site of the Luoyang East Road comprehensive renovation project, where construction workers were carrying out operations in an orderly manner. It is understood that the main structure of the project's monitoring and management building has been fully completed, and 900 meters of the tunnel's main structure has been completed. The management building is expected to be completed before the Spring Festival.
It is reported that the Luoyang East Road comprehensive renovation project starts from Changdong Avenue in the west and ends at Tianxiang Avenue in the east, and is an important urban road. The total length of the entire line is 3,659 meters, with a width of 50 meters. Nanchang's first underground utility tunnel under construction is located beneath this road, integrating various municipal pipelines such as power, comprehensive utilities, gas, water supply, and sewage into one centralized facility.
"When pipelines need maintenance, there is no need to cordon off and dig up the road. Maintenance personnel and engineering vehicles can enter the utility tunnel through the inspection passage and begin work." The person in charge of the project department introduced that although vehicles cannot drive inside the utility tunnel, there is enough space inside. People can move freely within the utility tunnel.
