It is learned from the Meizhou Municipal Transport Bureau that in 2017, Meizhou completed 13.62 billion yuan in fixed asset investment in transport, accounting for 101.4% of the annual plan and up 12.8% year on year. Of this, expressways accounted for 6.08 billion yuan, or 100.4% of the annual plan, up 44.8% year on year. The goals were achieved of opening the Xinghua Expressway to traffic, carrying out obstacle-free construction on the Meiping Expressway, and starting full-scale construction on the Dachao (including the Dazhang branch line), Meizhou East Ring, Hualu and Fenghua expressways.
In terms of completed investment, the Xinghua Expressway project completed 2.148 billion yuan last year, accounting for 89.51% of the annual investment task (saving 252 million yuan on the project), and was opened to traffic on September 28 last year. Among the other expressways under construction, the Meiping Expressway project completed 1.22 billion yuan last year, accounting for 101.7% of the annual investment task; the Dachao Expressway project completed 1.49 billion yuan last year, accounting for 110.4% of the annual investment task; the Meizhou East Ring Expressway project completed 320 million yuan last year, accounting for 106.6% of the annual investment task; the Hualu Expressway project completed 310 million yuan last year, accounting for 118.5% of the annual investment task; and the Fenghua Expressway project completed 600 million yuan last year, accounting for 108.9% of the annual investment task.
In terms of land acquisition and demolition, in 2017 the four expressway projects of Meizhou East Ring, Dachao, Hualu and Fenghua required a total of 16,440 mu of land acquisition and 126,380 square meters of house demolition. In 2017, 15,162 mu of land was acquired and 96,383 square meters of houses were demolished, accounting for 92.2% and 76.3% of the totals respectively. Land acquisition and demolition for some projects are being accelerated in an effort to achieve obstacle-free construction along the entire line as soon as possible.
It is understood that this year, the Meizhou transport authorities will continue to give play to the organizing and coordinating role of the municipal and county-level headquarters, make every effort to provide service and support for project construction, and create a sound construction environment in all respects; give play to the main-force role of expressways in driving Meizhou's transport fixed asset investment, actively seek support from project owners, speed up construction progress, and strive to complete an investment task of 5.7 billion yuan for the year; earnestly fulfill the main responsibility of local governments for land acquisition and demolition, promptly resolve remaining issues in land acquisition and demolition, and ensure obstacle-free construction of the five expressways under construction; and accelerate the preliminary work of reserve projects, striving to start construction of the Dafeng Expressway.
