It was recently learned that the access tunnel at the Liangmaoshan Vehicle Depot on Shenzhen Metro Line 10 has achieved a twin-tube breakthrough. Construction tasks along Line 10 are currently being advanced, and the fourth unit of the double-deck stabling and inspection shed at the Liangmaoshan Vehicle Depot has been successfully capped, with the entire structure expected to be capped in early February.

It is understood that the mined tunnel group at the Liangmaoshan Vehicle Depot consists of eight tunnels. Among them, the access tunnel, with a total length of about 1,987 meters, is the one with the longest blind-heading excavation distance, the most complex geological conditions and the greatest construction difficulty of the eight tunnels. The access tunnel at the Liangmaoshan Vehicle Depot has three types of horseshoe-shaped cross-sections: single-tube single-track, single-tube double-track and single-tube triple-track. It has the dual characteristics of both a mountain tunnel and a metro tunnel, and “shallow cover”, “large span”, “unsymmetrical loading” and “small clear distance” are the notable features of this tunnel.

Shenzhen Metro Line 10 is a key line of the third phase of the rail transit project. It runs from Futian Checkpoint Station in the south to Pinghu Center Station in the north, directly connecting Futian, Longhua and Longgang, and is an important passenger transport corridor supporting the transformation and upgrading of central Shenzhen. The line has a total length of 29.52 kilometers, with 24 stations, including 9 interchange stations. Construction began on December 30, 2014, and trial operation is expected to begin in 2020.
