Recently, China Construction Second Engineering Bureau's first shield machine "Beyond No.1" was launched at the south end of Hanghai East Road Station in Zhengzhou, marking a significant step forward in the construction of Zhengzhou Metro Line 3. According to reports, the "Beyond No.1" shield machine has a total length of 85 meters, an excavation diameter of 6.46 meters, a total installed weight of 500 tons, and a maximum advance speed of one ring per 3 hours. The shield machine will take seven months to tunnel 1,750 meters from a depth of 20 meters underground, completing the construction of the shield tunnel section from Hanghai East Road Station to the Vehicle Depot on Zhengzhou Metro Line 3.
It is understood that Zhengzhou Rail Line 3 is a metro PPP project cooperated between China State Construction and Zhengzhou City, and is also the earliest large-scale infrastructure project implemented in the strategic cooperation framework of 100 billion yuan investment and development between Zhengzhou City and China State Construction. The first phase of the project has 21 stations and a length of 25.5 kilometers. Hanghai East Road Station is the southernmost station of the first phase of Line 3. China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Beijing Branch is responsible for the construction of two bid sections, work areas 07 and 09, of Zhengzhou Rail Line 3, which is also the first metro construction general contracting project of China Construction Second Engineering Bureau. Cheng Guitang, Party Working Committee Secretary and Executive General Manager of China State Construction Infrastructure Business Division, and Chen Jianguang, Chairman and Party Committee Secretary of China Construction Second Engineering Bureau, attended the launch ceremony. At the ceremony, Chen Jianguang awarded plaques to members of the An Jianyong Model Worker and Craftsman Talent Innovation Studio. The An Jianyong Model Worker and Craftsman Talent Innovation Studio is a technical innovation team led by Dr. An Jianyong. The team will collaborate with Beijing Jiaotong University, using the Zhengzhou Rail Line 3 project as a research base, to promote the integration of industry, academia, and research, and jointly explore innovative technical processes for metro construction.
