Recently learned from the Provincial Development and Reform Commission: since the beginning of this year, our province has strengthened basic support, accelerated the construction of comprehensive three-dimensional transportation corridors, continuously improved the comprehensive transportation system, and refined the coordination and promotion mechanism, establishing work ledgers and assessment systems for major projects to effectively speed up project construction.
Anhui Province has focused on building the "one vertical and two horizontal" waterway transportation network and actively advanced the construction of main trunk waterways. The "No. 1 Project" of infrastructure construction, the Yangtze-to-Huaihe Water Diversion Project, is under full construction; major projects such as the Huaihe River main stream waterway regulation have started construction; and the overall framework of the "one vertical and two horizontal" waterway network is taking shape rapidly. The province has focused on enhancing the functions of the Wanjiang golden waterway, and the regulation and dredging project of the Anhui section of the Yangtze River main stream is being implemented at an accelerated pace. Construction of tributary waterways has been strengthened, with upgrades and renovations carried out on important tributary waterways such as the Wushen Canal, Shaying River, Heyu Line, and Shuiyang River. The province's high-grade waterway mileage has reached 1,428 km, ranking fifth nationwide.
In building a modern railway transportation network, our province has strengthened coordination, scheduling, and fund-raising to accelerate major project construction. There are 13 railway projects under construction with a new line mileage of 1,171 km, including 1,037 km of high-speed railway. The Beijing-Shanghai, Beijing-Fuzhou, and Yanjiang high-speed railway corridors are fully connected; the Zhengzhou-Xuzhou high-speed railway has been completed and opened to traffic; the Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou, Hefei-Anqing, Zhengzhou-Fuyang, and Anqing-Jiujiang high-speed railways have started construction; and preliminary work on the Hefei-Xinyi, Chizhou-Huangshan, and Nanchang-Jingdezhen-Huangshan high-speed railways is being accelerated.
The province's railway network has been further improved, with railway operating mileage reaching 4,223 km, including 1,403 km of high-speed railway, ranking third nationwide and first in Central China. The main framework of a rapid railway network centered on Hefei has taken initial shape, and Anhui's hub position in the national railway network has been fundamentally enhanced. In building an internally connected and externally linked highway network, our province has completed six expressways including the Wangdong Yangtze River Highway Bridge and the Liguang Expressway. Expressway mileage open to traffic has reached 4,543 km, achieving a 6-hour transit from north to south and a 3-hour transit from east to west. Reconstruction and expansion of the Hefei-Nanjing, Hefei-Anqing, and Hefei-Wuhu expressways has started. Preliminary work is being accelerated on three expressway PPP pilot projects, including the Yuewu East Extension, and four "county-to-county" expressways, including Wuhu-Huangshan. Construction of national and provincial trunk highways has been strengthened, with the implementation of the first-class highway "network expansion project," the second-class highway "upgrade project," and the trunk highway "quality project." The province's first-class highway mileage has reached 4,000 km. The rural road accessibility project has been smoothly implemented, with this year's annual tasks completed ahead of schedule.
