On December 12, the Sichuan Province 2017 Q4 Major Projects Groundbreaking Ceremony was held, with a sub-venue in Renshou County, Meishan City. Municipal Party Secretary Mu Xinhai, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor Luo Jiaming, Director of the Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee Liu Shiqing, Chairman of the Municipal CPPCC Wang Yingcong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Secretary-General Wang Shuhuai, and Deputy Mayors Tang Hong and Ran Dengxiang attended the groundbreaking ceremony at the Meishan sub-venue.

At the ceremony, Mu Xinhai reported to the Provincial Party Committee on the commencement of major projects in Meishan City. A total of 36 major projects were launched in the city, with a total investment of 82.14 billion yuan and a planned investment of 12.86 billion yuan in 2018. Among them, 14 infrastructure projects with a total investment of 8.76 billion yuan and an estimated investment of 1.6 billion yuan in 2018; 14 industrial development projects with an estimated total investment of 65.04 billion yuan and an estimated investment of 9.65 billion yuan in 2018; 3 livelihood and social undertaking projects with a total investment of 210 million yuan and an estimated investment of 130 million yuan in 2018; and 5 real estate projects with a total investment of 8.13 billion yuan and an estimated investment of 1.48 billion yuan in 2018. Among the started projects, 9 are major projects with a total investment of over 1 billion yuan each. The implementation of these major projects will greatly improve the city's development conditions and optimize its industrial structure.

Mu Xinhai stated that next, the city will thoroughly implement the new requirements of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on building a modern economic system, fully leverage the key role of investment in optimizing the supply structure, unswervingly pursue large and good projects, continue to adhere to the mechanism of "advancing every month, starting (completing) every two months, and reviewing every quarter," make every effort to guarantee, follow up on, and serve projects, ensure that key projects at both provincial and municipal levels are quickly implemented, rapidly advanced, and achieve early results, and accelerate the cultivation of new economic growth points.

After the provincial groundbreaking ceremony, the city immediately held the Meishan City 2017 Q4 Major Projects and Truly (Renshou) 5th Generation High-end Display Project Groundbreaking Ceremony. Mu Xinhai announced the commencement of the city's 2017 Q4 major projects and the Truly (Renshou) 5th Generation High-end Display Project. Luo Jiaming presided over the ceremony. Sub-venues were set up in other districts and counties, and relevant municipal leaders attended.

It is reported that the Truly (Renshou) 5th Generation TFT-LCD High-end Automotive and Smart Terminal Display Factory Construction Project has a planned total investment of 12.5 billion yuan, a construction period of 20-24 months, and is scheduled to be put into production by the end of 2019. The project capacity is 140,000 large plates (1100mm×1300mm) per month. After completion, the equipment will undergo major upgrades to simultaneously possess amorphous silicon (α-si), metal oxide (OXIDE), and low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) display technology capabilities and production capacity, covering display requirements for different products. The production line is positioned for the small and medium-sized display market, covering various size series from 1.3 to 21 inches, with product applications including automotive displays, industrial control and medical, smart home appliances, smart office, smartphones, tablets, etc.

Since the beginning of this year, the city has firmly implemented the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, earnestly implemented the decision-making arrangements of the 11th Provincial Party Congress and the Second Plenary Session of the 11th Provincial Party Committee, earnestly implemented the "Project Year" work deployment of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, adhered to organizing economic work with projects as the center, and effectively promoted the steady and rapid development of the city's economy and society. As of the end of November, the city's 23 provincial key projects completed an investment of 7.77 billion yuan, exceeding the time schedule for the investment plan; 32 provincial key projects for 2018 were declared, with a total investment of 134 billion yuan, reserving a batch of large and good projects for next year's economic development.
