On November 29, to commemorate the 30th "World AIDS Day," China Building Materials Zambia Industrial Park held a charity donation event themed "Fighting AIDS Together, Embracing Health" in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. At the event, entrusted by China National Building Material Group and Sinoma Cement, the industrial park donated 500,000 Zambian Kwacha to the Kolelawaka Foundation and the Zambia Grassroots AIDS Prevention Organization as a special fund to support the Zambian government's HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment efforts.

Mrs. Bernadette Deka, Special Representative of the First Lady of Zambia, Mrs. Geng Hailing, wife of the Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, officials from the Zambian Ministry of Health, Mr. Zhang Yuanci, Deputy General Manager of Sinoma Cement and Chairman of Sinoma Mpande Company, and representatives of the recipient organizations, the Kolelawaka Foundation and the Zambia Grassroots AIDS Prevention Organization, attended the donation ceremony and delivered speeches. Relevant responsible persons from Sinoma Mpande Company and about 90 people from various sectors in China and Zambia attended the ceremony. Mainstream media including Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation, Zambia Daily Mail, and Africa Overseas Chinese Weekly were present to interview and report on the donation.

On behalf of the First Lady of Zambia, Mrs. Esther Lungu, Mrs. Bernadette Deka delivered a speech. She stated that health is the most important and complex issue in human social development. Since the first AIDS case appeared in Zambia in the early 1980s, the government has taken measures to combat and prevent HIV/AIDS and has made significant progress. She noted that China Building Materials Zambia Industrial Park actively fulfills its responsibility as a global citizen by donating funds to HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment organizations, which will greatly promote the development of Zambia's fight against AIDS. Mrs. Bernadette Deka also expressed hope that the Zambian government and Ministry of Health would encourage more local small and medium-sized enterprises to follow the example of Sinoma Mpande Company, a foreign-invested enterprise, and participate in the fight against HIV/AIDS with practical actions, making positive contributions to the development of Zambia's HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.

In her speech, Mrs. Geng Hailing stated that HIV/AIDS is a challenge faced by all humanity, affecting social stability, economic development, and even national security. The Chinese government is also taking measures to combat HIV/AIDS and has made significant progress. While implementing its own HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment work, China also cooperates with international organizations to strive for the United Nations goal of eliminating AIDS by 2030. Mrs. Geng Hailing noted that Ms. Peng Liyuan, wife of the Chinese President and WHO Goodwill Ambassador for Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS, is actively engaged in HIV/AIDS work in China and globally, and that Mrs. Esther Lungu, First Lady of Zambia, is also committed to promoting HIV/AIDS prevention and public health development in her country. Jointly combating HIV/AIDS is part of the shared efforts of the First Ladies of China and Zambia and an important part of strengthening the friendship between the two countries. She expressed hope that more and more Chinese-funded enterprises in Zambia, like Sinoma Mpande Company, would regard HIV/AIDS prevention as part of fulfilling their social responsibilities and actively participate in such efforts.

Representatives of the recipient organizations, the Kolelawaka Foundation and the Zambia Grassroots AIDS Prevention Organization, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the charitable act of China Building Materials Zambia Industrial Park in their speeches, and hoped that more enterprises, organizations, and individuals would lend a helping hand, pay attention to, and participate in the great action against HIV/AIDS.

China Building Materials Zambia Industrial Park is a comprehensive building materials industrial park integrating cement, commercial concrete, aggregates, and fired bricks, invested and constructed in Zambia by Sinoma Cement under China National Building Material Group. Since its establishment two years ago, the company has actively practiced the three principles of internationalization of China National Building Material Group—"win-win cooperation"—contributing to local development, cooperating with local enterprises, and maintaining friendly relations with local residents. It has carried out numerous activities in Zambia, including building hospitals, constructing schools, drilling water wells, repairing roads, visiting orphans, and providing free medical consultations for residents. Through practical actions, it inherits and carries forward the tradition of China-Zambia friendship, promotes the virtues and good deeds of the Chinese people's boundless love, and practices the great call of General Secretary Xi Jinping to build a "community with a shared future for mankind." On the occasion of the 30th World AIDS Day, the industrial park launched this donation event to, on the one hand, support Zambia's HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment work with the company's modest contribution, and on the other hand, call on all sectors of Zambian society to pay attention to HIV/AIDS, prevent and control it, and act together to pass on the red ribbon of love and join hands toward a better future free from HIV/AIDS.
