On September 29, the pouring of pile foundation 16-33 for the south bank main tower of the Wuxue Yangtze River Highway Bridge, constructed by China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd. No.1 Engineering Company, was completed. A total of 18 main tower pile foundations have been poured, two days ahead of the planned milestone, winning valuable time for achieving the cap construction target by the end of the year and earning praise from the owner.
The south bank main tower of the Wuxue Yangtze River Highway Bridge adopts an A-shaped tower with a height of 233.602 meters. The main tower pile foundation consists of rock-socketed piles, totaling 36 piles, with a designed diameter of 3 meters and a length of 59 meters. Due to high construction standards, complex external environment, and large hole diameter, during the drilling process, the project department continuously improved the pile head form, adjusted mud parameters according to different stratum conditions, and changed the slag removal method to improve construction efficiency. To ensure the milestone schedule, the project department, through meticulous calculation, added an SR55D rotary drilling rig on the basis of the original 12 percussion drills, injecting a shot in the arm for the successful completion of the construction target. Upon learning this news, the owner unit Wuxue Yangtze River Highway Bridge Co., Ltd. immediately sent a congratulatory letter, extending condolences and heartfelt congratulations to the project management team and all construction personnel who have devoted their efforts and sweat to the Wuxue Bridge project, and expressing the hope that WX-2 section of the Wuxue Yangtze River Bridge will make persistent efforts, advance victoriously, organize meticulously, and manage finely to complete all annual task targets for 2017 on time and with high quality.
The south bank main tower pile foundation of the Wuxue Yangtze River Bridge successfully poured more than half before the opening of the "19th National Congress", which is a gift from all project construction personnel to the motherland's 68th birthday, and also greatly boosted the morale of the project staff, laying a solid foundation for achieving the overall goal of completion and opening to traffic by the end of 2020.
