Recently, the last pile foundation of Shangdian Bridge in the Xifu Baoding Section of the Taihang Mountains Expressway was successfully poured, marking the completion of all 194 pile foundations under Contract 3 of the Baoding Section of the Taihang Mountains Expressway. This successfully broke through the bottleneck imposed by the complex geological environment and fully entered the stage of intensive construction of the bridge substructure.

It is understood that the entire Baoding Section of the Taihang Mountains Expressway is located in the hilly and mountainous hinterland of Fuping County, Baoding City, in the Taihang Mountains, with steep peaks and deep valleys. The bridge-to-tunnel ratio is as high as over 49%, and there are many breakpoints along the route. The geographical environment along the line is dominated by granite, with hard rock and complex conditions, making construction difficult. In response to geographical and geological difficulties such as hard rock, small drilling rig footage, and underground water inflow, the engineering management and technical personnel of China Construction Road & Bridge Group, the contractor for this section, scientifically planned and formulated a construction plan. They adopted two construction methods, manual hole digging and percussion drilling, and successfully achieved assembly-line operations for bridge pile foundation excavation and pouring, as well as the construction of bridge substructure tie beams, pile caps, pier columns, thin-walled piers, and bent caps, and the prefabrication, hoisting, and laying of the bridge's T-beams, creating an orderly engineering construction situation.

Up to now, Contract 3 of the Baoding Section of the Taihang Mountains Expressway has poured 54 connecting columns, 16 thin-walled piers, 38 tie beams, 21 pile caps, and 33 bent caps, prefabricated 143 40-meter T-beams, and erected 50 40-meter T-beams. All engineering projects are under control.
