Box Girder Erection Completed on the Longest Extra-Large Bridge of the New Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway
Shijiazhuang, September 28 — The reporter learned from the Project Department of Section 8 of the New Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway under Sinohydro Bureau 7 Co., Ltd. of Power Construction Corporation of China that on September 28, as the bridge erection machine precisely positioned a 714.5-ton double-track full-span precast box girder, all 132 box girders of the Longyang River Extra-Large Bridge — the longest extra-large bridge on the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway project — were fully erected.
The Longyang River Extra-Large Bridge has a total length of 4,405.86 meters. The bridge crosses the Longyang River, spans the Xuanpang Railway and National Highway G112, and passes over rural roads multiple times. It is large in scale, tight in schedule, high in quality standards, involves many professional interfaces, and has many mutually constraining factors. To ensure the smooth progress of bridge erection construction, the project department has planned ahead and optimized resource allocation since the start of construction, organized personnel input, and had project department leaders direct operations on site while safety officers monitored the entire process, successfully completing the bridge erection task of the Longyang River Extra-Large Bridge and laying a solid foundation for the rapid advancement of subsequent bridge deck system construction and the launch of track-laying construction.
As of now, box girder erection for four bridges in the small-chainage direction of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway has been completed for three — Xiaomanling South, Xiaomanling North and Longyang River — with a total of 143 box girders erected, while the Qijiazhuang section is progressing in an orderly manner.
In 1905, Zhan Tianyou presided over the construction of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway. This railway, designed by Chinese themselves and built without foreign funds or personnel, wiped away the shame of modern China's construction engineering. As a key supporting project for the 2022 Beijing-Zhangjiakou Winter Olympics and an important transportation artery promoting the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration development strategy, the new Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway officially started construction on March 29 this year and has now fully entered the critical stage of construction.
