The China Railway Design Group website recently published the "First Information Announcement on Environmental Impact Assessment for the New Beijing-Xiongan Railway," initiating the environmental assessment work for the Beijing-Xiongan Railway. According to relevant departments, the Beijing-Xiongan Railway was originally the Beijing-Bazhou Intercity Railway; the alignment in the Beijing section remains basically unchanged, but the Hebei section has been adjusted to pass through Xiongan New Area.
According to the announcement, the new Beijing-Xiongan Railway is located within Beijing Municipality and Hebei Province. The line starts from Liying, passes through Langfang, and reaches Xiongan East Station, with a total length of approximately 100.283 kilometers. Among them, the Liying to New Airport section of about 35.883 kilometers maintains the original construction plan of the Beijing-Bazhou Intercity Railway; the main line from the New Airport to Xiongan New Area is about 64.4 kilometers long. In addition, related projects such as the Beijing-Tianjin connecting line and the Xiongan East hub connecting line will be newly built.
According to previous plans, the new Beijing-Bazhou Intercity Railway starts from Liying Station with a main line length of 78.2 kilometers, but in the future it will depart from Beijing West Station, pass through Huangcun Station, New Airport Station, and Yongqing West Station, and then arrive at Bazhou Station.
Previously, there were reports that the Beijing-Bazhou Intercity Railway would have its alignment modified for Xiongan New Area. Not long ago, relevant officials from the housing and railway departments stated that the Beijing-Bazhou Intercity Railway has been confirmed to be rerouted, mainly affecting the Hebei section, while the Beijing section involves only about 3 kilometers and is currently under study.
It is reported that the Beijing section from Huangcun Station to New Airport Station will not have its alignment modified; adjustments will be made after departing from the New Beijing Airport. A relevant person in charge of railway construction progress disclosed on July 23 that, from a planning and design perspective, consideration is being given to rerouting north of Bazhou to Xiongan New Area, but the final version of the plan has not yet been submitted for approval and is subject to the release by relevant departments.
