On July 5, as the huge suspender of the bridge erection machine slowly descended, the 87th span T-beam of the Hanjiang Grand Bridge landed steadily on the pier and connected with the main bridge of the Hanjiang Grand Bridge. This means that the beam erection work of the Hanjiang Grand Bridge is more than half completed, and also marks that the track-laying and bridge-erection mileage of the Tianxian and Qianjiang project section managed by the First Company of China Railway 15th Bureau Group of China Railway Construction Corporation has exceeded half. The Yuekou Hanjiang Grand Bridge has a total length of 6,387.4 m. Among it, the section crossing the Hanjiang River is a 473.7 m steel box hybrid girder single-tower cable-stayed bridge, with 2 continuous girders crossing the embankment, 1 continuous girder crossing the provincial highway, and 175 approach bridge pier columns. The entire bridge stretches across both banks of the Hanjiang River like a long dragon.
        To ensure the node targets for track-laying and bridge erection, since the beginning of this year the project department has closely focused on the track-laying and bridge-erection goals, carried out labor competition activities of “grasping safety, ensuring quality, and racing against time,” adopted effective measures, mobilized the construction enthusiasm of participating employees, and vigorously advanced key project construction. On the one hand, it vigorously pushed forward the hoisting construction of the main bridge steel box girders, maintaining a five-day cycle operation posture and effectively ensuring the timely closure of the steel box girders. At the same time, it promptly followed up with bridge deck system construction, fully deployed personnel and equipment, strove for effective construction time, ensured orderly connection of processes, and through overall deployment, reasonable arrangement, and densified production factors, accelerated bridge deck system construction to ensure unimpeded flow on the Hanjiang Grand Bridge. On the other hand, it promptly organized relevant personnel to inspect one by one the elevation of all bridge pier bearing pads and the positions of anchor bolt holes, actively carried out the acceptance and handover of pier columns, and laid a solid foundation for the smooth progress of track-laying and bridge-erection construction.
        With the continuous girders connected through to the main bridge, this river-crossing railway bridge appears even more magnificent and has become a beautiful scenic line on the Jianghan Plain.
