On July 8, in Jiangda County, Qamdo, Tibet, continuous rainfall caused local river levels to rise sharply. The foundation of a riverside residential high-rise on a county town street was washed away, causing the building to topple; the entire high-rise collapsed into the river and was instantly destroyed by the raging floodwaters.

Local authorities have urgently activated a flood-control and emergency rescue plan to assist affected residents. Because the local government had organized the evacuation of residents from the building before it collapsed, the accident caused no casualties.
