Recently, with the start of construction on the passenger dock at the Huilongwan Scenic Area in Ziwu Town, Xixiang County, Hanzhong City, a batch of Hanjiang River port and dock construction projects in the county—including Xinyuba, Dingjiazhuang, Duanjiaying, and Huilongwan—has officially been launched.
The project is a key initiative of the Provincial Maritime Safety Administration to support Xixiang County in poverty alleviation and develop all-for-one tourism. It is also a supporting project for promoting tourism development along the Hanjiang River and a livelihood project for helping poor riverside villages shake off poverty and become prosperous. The project has a planned total investment of more than 60 million yuan. It is planned to build a total of 6 passenger berths with a capacity of 600 passengers, 3 cargo docks of 300-ton class, and a tourist plaza of 14,000 square meters, set up 1,000 linear meters of connecting roads from the docks to the port access roads, and simultaneously complete ancillary facilities such as passenger waiting rooms, dock yards, landscaping, lighting, and environmental protection. The project will make full use of Hanjiang River shipping resources, leverage the advantages of multimodal transport including water-land and water-rail intermodal transport, accelerate the construction of Hanjiang River shipping infrastructure, and develop Hanjiang River tourism. At the same time, it will integrate shoreline resources, truly leverage the advantages of the Hanjiang River basin—large transport capacity, low energy consumption, and low cost—build a comprehensive, three-dimensional transportation system that is smooth internally and well connected externally, efficient and convenient, green and low-carbon, and interconnected, strengthen the driving role of the shipping industry in local economic development, and make every effort to build the Xixiang-Hanyin-Shiquan Hanjiang regional urban center.
