On June 22, it was learned that China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. and Luoyang LYC Bearing Co., Ltd. recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Luoyang.
It is understood that the shield machine, known as the “king of construction machinery,” is composed of more than 100,000 components and represents China's latest level in high-end equipment manufacturing. However, its main bearing and other core components still rely on imports, and the localization of key components has long been a hot topic of concern in the industry. In 2015, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology organized bidding for the “Industrial Transformation and Upgrading Foundation Strengthening Project,” and CREG successfully won the bid for the shield machine main bearing and reducer industrial test platform project. LYC Bearing is one of the largest comprehensive bearing manufacturing enterprises in China's bearing industry. It is the birthplace of the largest-diameter and highest-precision bearings processed in China today, and is also a domestic production base with the widest range of bearing product sizes, the broadest application coverage, and the most complete variety.
According to the agreement, the two parties will cooperate closely in the fields of tunnel boring machines and main bearings, form complementary advantages and regular interaction in scientific research and development, market expansion, and other businesses, and establish a strategic alliance for cooperation in tunnel and underground space development.
