On June 9, 2017, good news came from the Qiandao Lake Water Diversion Project, Hangzhou's second water source: the first section of the Xinxing Ductile Iron Pipes DN2600 ductile iron pipeline successfully passed the pressure test. The passing of this pressure test marks the first successful application of the XT2-type DN2600 ductile iron pipe independently developed by Xinxing Ductile Iron Pipes in the water conservancy industry, and demonstrates that ultra-large-diameter ductile iron pipes are fully suitable for laying on soft soil foundations.
The Qiandao Lake Water Diversion Project (from the Ring Expressway to Renhe Water Plant), Hangzhou's second water source, lays DN2600 pipes and is a branch project of the Chengbei Line of Hangzhou's second water source transmission channel. The terrain and landforms along the pipeline are complex, especially with many silt sections, which brought great difficulties to construction.
