Q420B is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel.

Q420 is a type of low-alloy high-strength structural steel. Q420 is not only ahigh-strength steel, but also a low-carbon steel. Its tensile strength is somewhat higher: the tensile strength of Q235 is 235N/MM^2, while that of Q420 is 420N/MM^2. Due to its low carbon content, it cannot undergoquenching and tempering or similar treatments, so it still cannot be used to machine shafts, gears, and similar parts. However, it is excellent for making steel plates, with strength much higher than Q235. Q420 offers high strength and good fatigue resistance; high toughness and a lowbrittle transition temperature; good cold forming and welding performance; and relatively good corrosion resistance and certain wear resistance.

Q420 is suitable for power transmission towers, various cranes and hoists, heavy-duty vehicles, oil derricks, high-temperature fans, large electric shovels, dump trucks and drilling rigs, coal mine hydraulic supports, steel structures, and more.
