XCMG Foundation's "Research and Industrialization of Complete Sets of Construction Equipment for Subway Foundation Engineering" project was successfully selected and approved for 10 million yuan in funding.
　　By the end of 2015, subway transportation network plans and construction plans in 39 cities across the country had been approved. China's urban subway transportation construction completed an investment of 191.4 billion yuan, an increase of 28.6 billion yuan over 2014, up 17.6%. It is expected that by 2020, more than 50 cities will have been approved for subway construction, urban subway transportation will reach a scale of nearly 6,000 kilometers, with about 2,500 kilometers of new subway construction, about 1,800 new underground stations, and a total investment of 4 trillion yuan. The rapid development of rail transit and the requirement for equipment localization will certainly promote the rapid development of the subway construction equipment manufacturing industry, thereby driving the technical level of the entire industrial chain to continuously move to a higher level.
　　XCMG Foundation's "Research and Industrialization of Complete Sets of Construction Equipment for Subway Foundation Engineering" project closely aligns with the national subway strategic plan, providing a complete set of foundation engineering construction solutions for domestic and international subway construction, involving the research and development and construction process promotion of multiple products such as tunnel boring machines, double-wheel trench cutters, hydraulic grabs for underground diaphragm walls, and rotary drilling rigs. Among them, the research and promotion of subway tunnel boring machines will innovate traditional tunnel construction techniques, eliminate the danger and destructiveness of drill-and-blast construction, break the limitations of shield construction applications, and provide a safe, efficient, green and environmentally friendly mechanical equipment and construction process for tunnel construction; the localization of double-wheel trench cutters for hard rock stratum construction will play an important role in the rapid construction of domestic subways, replacing the pollution, destructiveness and low efficiency of impact drilling rig construction, and providing advanced, efficient and intelligent construction equipment and processes for the construction of subway stations.
