The sand dryer, also known as a three-return roller dryer, was developed based on the single-drum dryer and is the preferred choice for drying non-sticky, free-flowing materials in industry. Currently, Lipu Heavy Industry's three-drum dryer features mature technology and has achieved ideal results after testing on materials such as sand, fly ash, pulverized coal, and slag.

 
Working Principle:
 

Sand is conveyed by a belt conveyor or bucket elevator to the hopper, and then enters the feed end through the feeding pipe via the hopper's feeder. The inclination of the feeding pipe should be greater than the natural angle of repose of the material to allow smooth flow into the sand dryer (yellow sand dryer). The dryer cylinder is a rotating cylinder slightly inclined to the horizontal. The material is fed from the higher end, and the heat carrier enters from the lower end, contacting the material in countercurrent flow; there are also cases where the heat carrier and material enter the cylinder in concurrent flow. As the cylinder rotates, the material moves to the lower end under gravity. During the forward movement of the wet material inside the cylinder, it directly or indirectly receives heat from the heat carrier, allowing the wet material to dry, and then it is discharged at the outlet end via a belt conveyor or screw conveyor. Inside the cylinder wall of the sand dryer (yellow sand dryer), lifting flights are installed to lift and scatter the material, increasing the contact surface between the material and the airflow, thereby improving the drying rate and promoting material advancement. The heat carrier is generally hot air, flue gas, etc. After passing through the dryer, the heat carrier usually requires a cyclone dust collector to capture the material carried in the gas. If further reduction of dust content in the exhaust gas is needed, it should pass through a bag filter or wet scrubber before discharge. 

 
Performance Features:

1. The equipment investment of the sand dryer is 1/6 of that of imported products; it is made of alloy steel plate, which is 3-4 times more wear-resistant than ordinary steel plate.

2. The initial moisture content of the material is 15%, and the final moisture content is ensured to be below 0.5-1%, making it the preferred product for cement plants, slag powder, and dry-mixed mortar production lines.

3. The sand dryer has a thermal efficiency of up to 80%, while the total power is reduced, saving 40% electricity and about one million yuan in coal and electricity consumption per year.

4. The fuel can be adapted to anthracite, bituminous coal, coal gangue, oil, and gas, and it can dry lump materials, granular materials, and powdery materials below 20-40mm.

5. Compared with the single-drum dryer, the sand dryer reduces the floor space by about 40% and lowers civil construction investment by about 50%.

6. No air leakage, completely solving the sealing difficulty, and it can be installed within a few hours.

7. The discharge temperature is <50 degrees, allowing direct entry into the material warehouse without the need for cooling in a cooling shed.
