At 10:30 on July 3, the construction site of the Altun Mountains No.1 Bridge undertaken by the Second Sub-division of the Golmud-Korla Railway Project of China Railway Tunnel Group First Engineering Co., Ltd. was crowded with people and resounded with firecrackers. After the on-site briefing was completed, at the command of the project leaders, accompanied by the falling hammer of the pile driver, the first rotary drilling pile foundation of the Second Sub-division began drilling, kicking off the bridge construction of the Second Sub-division.
　　The newly built Golmud-Korla Railway Line S6 section is located in Ruoqiang County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture. The Second Sub-division is responsible for the mileage section from 546 km + 955.91 m to 577 km + 45 m, with a total length of 30.08 km. The bridge pile foundation design includes: 3,508 m / 128 pile foundations, with pile diameters of 1.0 m and 1.25 m in two forms, all planned to be constructed by rotary drilling, with 4 m casings installed at the hole openings and concrete poured by the tremie method.
　　Since entering the site, the project department personnel have worked with full vigor and successively overcome difficulties such as material and equipment transportation and frequent changes in construction organization, enabling all on-site work to advance steadily. On-site management has truly achieved the principle of not waiting or relying on others, taking the initiative, breaking conventions, fully organizing construction production, and adhering to the simultaneous advancement of road, bridge, and tunnel production. The smooth commencement of drilling for the first pile not only marks that the bridge construction of the Golmud-Korla Second Sub-division has officially entered the construction stage, but also set off an upsurge of vigorous, fast, and high-quality construction on the Golmud-Korla Railway.
