Since entering June, the whole country has entered the flood season, and dredging projects in various places have started early, so excavators can be seen everywhere. In river dredging, amphibious excavators are certainly the first choice. Amphibious excavators are specially developed for excavation and dredging in swamps, mudflats, silted ditches and other areas that engineering ships and conventional construction machinery cannot enter or work in. They are ultra-low ground pressure excavators that can travel on their own in mud, water and riverbank embankments. Their main features: they ensure low ground pressure, adapt to driving and working in mud with extremely low soil bearing capacity, and can also float on water. However, if you don't have one, you can also make your own amphibious excavators. On the afternoon of June 4, on Dongchang Lake north of Dongguan Bridge in Liaocheng urban area, three excavators were “floating” on the water, extending their long arms to dig silt from the lake bottom onto boats. Many citizens who had never seen such a scene gathered around, wondering: “How can such heavy excavators drive into the water and work smoothly?”
It is understood that the three excavators are dredging the lake bottom from barges, mainly to dredge the cruise channel of Dongchang Lake. The excavators dig the silt from the lake bottom onto another barge and transport it to shore. It is reported that the underwater dredging project for the cruise channel started on May 19 and will end at the end of July.
