(SANY Heavy Industry Chairman Liang Wengen briefs Wang Qinmin, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, on SANY Europe's development)
On the morning of June 4, Wang Qinmin, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, led a delegation to visit the SANY Europe Industrial Park to investigate and study the current status of the company's overseas development. Wang highly affirmed SANY's overseas investment and M&A achievements, praising SANY as the pride of China's construction machinery manufacturing industry.
The visit was accompanied by Shi Guilu, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce; Nan Cunhui, Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce; Feng Haiyang, Consul General of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Düsseldorf; and Wang Weidong, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Germany. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Liang Wengen, Chairman of SANY Heavy Industry, and Deng Haijun, General Manager of SANY Europe.
On that day, Wang Qinmin toured the SANY Europe manufacturing plant, learned in detail about SANY's local operations in Germany, and held in-depth discussions and exchanges with SANY executives on topics such as overseas investment, mergers and acquisitions, informatization, and intelligent manufacturing. Liang Wengen introduced to the delegation SANY's development history, overseas investment, and its acquisition of Putzmeister, stating that internationalization is SANY's third venture.
According to reports, in January 2009, SANY Heavy Industry invested 100 million euros to build a construction machinery R&D and manufacturing base in Bedburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Premier Wen Jiabao and German Chancellor Merkel witnessed the signing ceremony of this project. It was the largest greenfield investment by China in Europe at the time and the first signing project completed under the joint witness of the leaders of the two governments, carrying great significance. In 2011, the SANY Europe Industrial Park was officially put into production. In 2012, SANY Heavy Industry successfully acquired Germany's Putzmeister, and the strong alliance consolidated SANY's leading position in the global concrete equipment market.
To date, SANY has established four R&D and manufacturing bases overseas in the United States, India, Germany, and Brazil, with business covering more than 120 countries and regions.
Wang Qinmin spoke highly of SANY's overseas development, praising SANY as one of the earliest private enterprises to implement the "going global" strategy and as having accumulated valuable successful experience in greenfield investment and overseas mergers and acquisitions. Wang emphasized that at a time when the internet industry is booming today, the country still vigorously promotes the steady development of the real economy and encourages more private enterprises to persist in doing real business and make positive contributions to social development.
