 Overview:

16Mo3 steel plate is a chromium-molybdenum steel alloy grade specified in EN10028-2 for pressure vessels, used as a material at elevated working temperatures, and employed as weldable steel in the manufacture of industrial boilers and stainless steel pressure vessels in the petroleum, natural gas, and chemical industries. This grade is equivalent to the domestic 12Cr1Mo.

16Mo3 steel plate is a foreign-brand steel plate. Unlike other materials, it requires preheating before welding, and after welding is completed, the weld seam should be kept warm for about 30 minutes. 16Mo3 manganese steel plate is also a steel with important alloying elements; manganese is an important hardenability element and has a significant effect on the toughness of weld metal.

Chemical Composition:

Carbon C

12%-20%

Molybdenum Mo

35%

Manganese Mn

40%-9%

Phosphorus P

<0.25%

Copper Cu

Features:

1. Heat resistance;

2. Corrosion resistance;

3. When Mn content is less than 5%, the toughness of weld metal is very high;

4. When Mn content is greater than 3%, it becomes very brittle;

5. When Mn content is between 60% and 180%, the weld metal has higher strength and toughness.
