Recent rainy days have left 28 households living at No. 110 Heping Xincun, Nanshan Road, Chengguan District, restless and anxious. Seeing the building they have lived in for so many years tilt significantly, everyone feels heavy-hearted. On June 1, the reporter learned that the building has been classified as a dangerous building by relevant departments. Responsible persons from the street office and community have issued emergency evacuation notices to the 28 households and are actively mobilizing residents to evacuate.

On-site: The entire building tilts overall, room floors become slopes

The 7-story residential building at No. 110 Heping Xincun is already 28 years old. The 28 households living here have recently been troubled by the same problem: the house they have lived in for so many years has been classified as a dangerous building.

Yesterday at noon, after receiving a report from citizens, the reporter came to the residential building on Nanshan Road. Standing from a distance, it is clearly visible that the entire building tilts to one side, forming an obvious trapezoidal space with the adjacent building, narrow at the top and wide at the bottom. Entering the home of a first-floor resident, one can feel that the floor in the room has become a slope. A resident placed a beverage bottle on the floor at the door, and without any external force, the bottle rolled to the other side of the room. Due to the large tilt, even the window frames in the homes have been severely deformed. Resident Ms. Mou told the reporter that it rained the previous night, and living in this tilted building made her very uneasy; she did not sleep all night.

The reporter noticed that warning lines have been set up around the building, and warning slogans are posted at the entrance of the unit.

Street office: Government subsidies and active mobilization of residents to evacuate

Regarding this matter, the reporter contacted the responsible person of Wuquan Street Office. A director surnamed Li told the reporter that according to the appraisal by the Gansu Academy of Civil Engineering Sciences, the foundation of the residential building is severely soaked, and the foundation is in a dangerous state. The degree of building tilt has far exceeded current national standards. To ensure the safety of the property of residents in the building and surrounding people, they have visited door to door for several consecutive days to persuade residents to move out. Director Li said that according to the overall deployment of the Chengguan District Party Committee and District Government, the government subsidizes each household with 1,300 yuan per month, and residents can choose their own resettlement locations. Currently, the mobilization and evacuation work is still ongoing.

During the interview, Director Li stated that according to on-site understanding by relevant personnel from the District Construction Bureau, the building's tilt is relatively large, and the possibility of reinforcement and correction is small. In response to the current situation, the first step is to organize the evacuation of residents in the building and implement transitional relocation for risk avoidance. The later solution will be jointly implemented by the Chengguan District Comprehensive Development Company and relevant departments.
