除了采用废纲炼钢的中小钢铁企业经济效益有所回升以外，四川重点钢铁企业经济效益基本处于继续下降中。其中，攀钢集团有限公司亏损尤为严重，今年1-4月亏损16.7亿元。同时，川威集团、德胜集团、西昌新钢业、西南不锈钢公司实现利润也大幅度下降。
省经信委相关负责人表示，这主要是受国际各种复杂因素的影响，造成产品出口受阻，加之国内一些项目建设进度放缓，致使市场供需矛盾突出。并且由于产能结构性过剩严重，市场价格走势依然不容乐观，重点企业或将继续亏损。
