On the 31st, good news came from the Baishi Bridge construction site: after seven months of intensive work, all 88 underwater pile foundations of the bridge, averaging about 59 meters in length, have been completed. A relevant official from the Municipal Highway Bureau stated that, provided land acquisition at the east bridgehead proceeds smoothly, the bridge is expected to achieve its opening target next September.

According to Tian Yangming, general manager of the Real Estate Company of the Municipal Urban Construction Group, which is responsible for the project, as of yesterday all 88 underwater pile foundations of the bridge had been fully completed. Meanwhile, 22 onshore pile foundations have also been completed, construction of the main bridge piers has begun, and installation of the bridge's main girder and two main towers will be completed by the end of the year. Tian Yangming said that, according to the construction requirements for the ground works and the bridge, the main structure of the bridge will meet opening conditions by August next year.

In addition, the reporter learned at the site that the land issue at the east bridgehead of Baishi Bridge has also been basically resolved. With coordination from the Xiangzhou District Government and the Municipal Highway Bureau, construction has begun on the south side of Gangsan Road. A relevant official from the Municipal Highway Bureau stated that if the land acquisition issue proceeds smoothly, the bridge is expected to achieve its opening target next September.
