长久以来，高楼林立的浦东陆家嘴核心区，楼宇之间相邻却不相通，给行人交通带来不便。此次建成的该地下空间与地下通道位于银城中路、世纪大道、花园石桥路和金茂大厦间的绿地内，总建筑面积6400平方米，包括地下2层的交通疏散大厅、2个下沉式广场和2个地面出入口，并围绕交通疏散大厅设立了4处通道，分别为地下空间至金茂大厦、地下空间至国金中心、地下空间至上海中心及上海中心至环球金融中心。
