Yesterday, the reporter observed at Bayi Square Station on Metro Line 2 that the earthwork excavation for the south section of the station, which lasted more than half a year, has been completed, laying the foundation for the full-scale construction of the station's main structure.

It is understood that Bayi Square Station on Line 2 is an interchange station between Metro Line 1 and Line 2. The station runs along Bayi Avenue from north to south, with a total length of 523.95 meters, making it the longest station in Nanchang Metro. The station area has particularly heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic, with shops lining both sides, narrow roads around the foundation pit, and a cramped construction site that also requires protecting the square's optical cables, making the transfer and processing of materials such as rebar extremely difficult. To address this, the contractor used double gantry cranes at the north and south ends for material transfer, ensuring the project schedule was carried out smoothly.

At present, the muck removal at the north and south ends of Bayi Square Station on Line 2 has reached 80% of the station's total, and the construction of the station's main structure is proceeding in an orderly manner from both ends. It is expected that all muck excavation at the station will be completed by mid-July.
