On April 22, the Hunan Provincial Economic and Information Commission issued the "Notice on Key New Product R&D Projects under the 2016 Provincial Industrial Sector '100 Key New Products Promotion Plan'," and the fully hydraulic drill rig for which SUNWARD applied for project approval was successfully selected.
The 100 Key New Products are selected through a series of steps including enterprise application, city and prefecture recommendation, expert review, and review by the Provincial Economic and Information Commission. SUNWARD's fully hydraulic drill rig being among them is closely related to the company's strong brand image, powerful scientific and technological innovation capabilities, and solid technical foundation. In the construction of key "13th Five-Year Plan" projects such as railways, highways, hydropower, and mines, rock excavation is an extremely important and critical construction operation that is difficult, costly and time-consuming, inefficient, performed under poor working conditions, and highly labor-intensive. Among rock excavation methods, the drill-and-blast method is currently dominant, and drilling time accounts for more than half of an excavation cycle. How to drill rock quickly has become a bottleneck restricting the speed of rock excavation construction. Clearly, in rapid rock drill-and-blast construction, it is imperative to develop fully hydraulic drill rigs with reliable performance, high efficiency, and energy savings, and they have broad application prospects.
The fully hydraulic drill rig developed in this project will greatly improve workers' working conditions and reduce labor intensity; while lowering energy consumption and reducing environmental impact, it will shorten the cycle time of each excavation face by more than 20%, significantly accelerating the construction speed of rock excavation. This will not only bring direct economic benefits to construction units, but the indirect economic benefits brought by shortening the construction period will also be considerable. The implementation of this project will surely greatly promote the application of new rock drilling technology in the field of construction machinery and drive the improvement of the industry's technical level.
