The Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway is designed for a speed of 350 km/h and will have 12 stations along the entire line. This was learned from the bidding announcement for geological survey supervision at the final survey and supplementary final survey stages of the Ganzhou-Shenzhen Passenger Dedicated Line (Guangdong Section) published on the Guangzhou Public Resources Trading website. According to the plan, construction of the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway is expected to start within the year. Once completed, the travel time from Shenzhen to Ganzhou will be only 2 hours.
12 stations planned for the entire line
The bidding announcement shows that the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway route starts from the southern end of Ganzhou West Station, crosses the Shangyou River and Zhangshui River, follows the existing Beijing-Kowloon Railway and then the east side of the Guangdong-Jiangxi Expressway to Xinfeng, where Xinfeng West Station is set up. It then goes south along the Guangdong-Jiangxi Expressway, passing Longnan East Station, Dingnan West Station, and Heping East Station, then follows the Dongjiang River and the Beijing-Kowloon Railway to Longchuan, where Longchuan West Station is set up on the south side of the Shankun Expressway. It continues along the Dongjiang River and the Beijing-Kowloon Railway corridor to Heyuan, where Heyuan East Station is set up near Yingke Avenue in Jiangdong New Area of Heyuan City. After leaving the station, it crosses the Dongjiang River and goes south along the east side of the Beijing-Kowloon Railway through Mapi Town in Boluo County, where Boluo North Station is set up. At Xiaojinkou in Huizhou City, it shares the station with the Guangzhou-Shanwei Railway but has separate yards, setting up Huizhou North Station. After leaving Huizhou North Station, it crosses the Dongjiang River, the Beijing-Kowloon Railway, and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Railway, and sets up Tangxia Station in Tangxia Town, Dongguan City. It then enters Shenzhen North Station along the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Passenger Dedicated Line.
This means that the long-disputed route of the Guangdong section of the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway has been clarified, adopting the plan of passing through Huizhou and Dongguan to enter Shenzhen North Station. Under this plan, the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway has a total length of 432 kilometers and includes 12 stations: Ganzhou West, Xinfeng West, Longnan East, Dingnan West, Heping East, Longchuan West, Dongyuan, Heyuan East, Boluo North, Huizhou North, Tangxia, and Shenzhen North. Among them, 10 are new stations and 2 are existing stations (Shenzhen North Station and Ganzhou West Station). The new main line includes 242 bridges totaling 168.19 kilometers and 149 tunnels totaling 174.6 kilometers, with a bridge-tunnel ratio of 79.35%.
Design speed reaches 350 km/h
The announcement shows several specific design standards for the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway. The railway grade is a passenger dedicated line, the number of main tracks is double, the design speed is 350 km/h, the main track spacing is 5.0 meters, the minimum curve radius is 7,000 meters in general sections and 5,500 meters in difficult sections, the maximum gradient is 20‰, the traction type is electric, the effective length of arrival-departure tracks is 650 meters, the train operation control mode is automatic control, and the dispatch command mode is centralized dispatch.
It is understood that the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway has been approved for project initiation by the "Review Opinions of China Railway Corporation on the Pre-feasibility Study of the New Ganzhou-Shenzhen Passenger Dedicated Line". Currently, the Guangzhou Railway Group is conducting public bidding for geological survey supervision of the project. The city's transportation work conference held earlier this year has clearly stated that the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway is planned to start construction within the year.
Only 2 hours from Shenzhen to Ganzhou
The Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway is an important part of the Beijing-Kowloon High-Speed Railway. Once completed, the travel time from Shenzhen to Ganzhou will be only 2 hours. According to the national railway network plan, this railway connects northward to the Nanchang-Ganzhou, Nanchang-Jiujiang, and Hefei-Anqing-Jiujiang railways directly to Beijing, and southward to the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway directly to Hong Kong. It is the Beijing-Kowloon High-Speed Railway explicitly planned for construction in the 13th Five-Year Plan, becoming another high-speed railway artery running through South China, Central China, and North China after the Beijing-Shanghai and Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railways.
This railway will also connect with the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway and the Southeast Coastal Railway, linking the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta, further activating the national high-speed and rapid railway network and enhancing Shenzhen's status as a railway hub.
