According to statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China generates a large amount of construction waste each year (1.5 billion tons in 2015), but less than 5% of it is resource-utilized, while the resource utilization rate of construction waste in developed countries in Europe and America reaches 75%, and in Japan and South Korea it reaches 95%. It is estimated that after effective development, China's construction waste utilization rate can eventually reach over 95%. If these construction wastes can be industrialized and resource-utilized by 2020, they can create a value of one trillion yuan.

“Construction waste is a resource in the wrong place”‍

On March 26, Austria's Rubble Master was invited to participate in the 'National Seminar on Industrialization, Resource Utilization, Harmlessness, and Neutralization Utilization of Industrial and Construction Waste' hosted by the Construction Environment Engineering Technology Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

Professor Yu Xuan from China Agricultural University, Executive Vice President of the Beijing Construction Waste Resource Utilization Association, gave a report entitled <Planning of Construction Waste Resource Utilization Project>, and Senior Engineer Zhang Quanhong, Deputy Director and Senior Economist of the Management Center of Beijing Chaoyang District Circular Economy Industrial Park, gave a report entitled <How Government and Enterprises Can Cooperate Win-Win to Build Construction Waste Treatment Plants>.
