Recently, the foundation excavation for the new comprehensive building of the Suifenhe Railway North Yard Trading Center, undertaken by the Second Company of China Railway 23rd Bureau Group, broke ground at Heilongjiang Province's largest railway port on the Russian border. The Mudanjiang-Suifenhe Railway Suifenhe Freight Yard Renovation Project has officially started construction, kicking off the creation of a China-Russia railway international logistics base.
The reporter observed at the site that the construction of the Suifenhe Station North Yard Trading Center comprehensive building, the first to start, is in full swing. Excavators, electric hammers, and heavy dump trucks shuttle back and forth with deafening roars, and steel workers are busy fabricating the steel required for the foundation raft. Currently, the frozen soil layer at the construction site is still about 2 meters deep. First, a vibratory hammer is needed to break the frozen layer, and then excavators are used to transfer and load the soil. The project department has mobilized 4 large excavators, 2 vibratory hammers, and 10 heavy dump trucks, expecting to move about 3,000 cubic meters of earth per day. All foundation earthwork can be completed in a week, creating conditions for the main construction.
With the development of China-Russia trade, Suifenhe Railway Port Station handles import and export of timber, coal, chemical fertilizers, steel, fresh products, grain, chemicals, and daily domestic cargo transportation. As a hub node in the construction of the Longjiang Land-Sea Silk Road Economic Belt, the storage scale of Suifenhe Station can no longer meet the needs of economic and trade development. Therefore, it has been included in the reconstruction and expansion plan by China Railway Corporation.
The current railway freight yard renovation at Suifenhe Station initially plans four zones to build a China-Russia railway international intermodal logistics base integrating international intermodal transport, domestic cargo warehousing, handling, and transportation, trading, office, commodity exhibition, and import-export processing. The entire project will include the construction of 9,211 square meters of new buildings; new weather sheds, walls, heating network pipelines, hardened surfaces, and cable trenches; demolition of 1,645 square meters of existing buildings and 16,600 square meters of color steel plate houses; addition of 2 control rooms, 1 base station, 2 iron towers, laying of 9.7 kilometers of optical cable, 5 sets of interlocking switches, and other supporting equipment for station renovation; power capacity expansion and renovation of 2.8 kilometers of high-voltage overhead lines, 2.94 kilometers of high-voltage cable lines, and 21.13 kilometers of low-voltage overhead lines. The contract period is 12 months, and it is planned to be put into use by the end of the year.
