Recently, the reporter learned from the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission that the preliminary design scheme for the reconstruction and expansion project of the Lintou to Longxi Interchange section of the G5011 Wuhe Expressway has passed expert review and construction is about to begin.
The reconstruction and expansion project of the Lintou to Longxi Interchange section of the G5011 Wuhe Expressway starts north of the Lintou Interchange, where the Wuhe Expressway intersects with the North Yanjiang Expressway. The route runs north through Lintou Town, Bantang Town (Chaohu Economic Development Zone), Shidaoshan Tunnel, Xiage Town, Zhegao Town, Miaogang Township, and Wangtie to Dianbu Town, and ends south of the Longxi Interchange, where it intersects with the He-Xu South Expressway. The total length of the route is approximately 54 kilometers.
According to the head of the Design Review Division of the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the reconstruction and expansion project of the Lintou to Longxi Interchange section of the G5011 Wuhe Expressway is a key project coordinated by the provincial government. The project adopts a combined scheme of "widening on both sides, widening on one side, and partial separation," expanding the original two-way four-lane expressway to two-way eight lanes. The design speed of general sections is increased to 120 km/h, and the subgrade width is 42 meters. At the same time, during construction, the principles of "reducing interference, ensuring traffic flow, and scientific organization" will be followed. Reasonable and feasible construction organization plans will be determined through multiple comparisons, construction procedures will be reasonably arranged, and road traffic will be ensured to the greatest extent possible.
The Wuhe Expressway began construction in December 1992 and was completed and opened to traffic in December 1995. It has a design speed of 100 km/h, two-way four lanes, and a subgrade width of 24.5 meters. It is an important part of the province's expressway network. In recent years, with economic development, the traffic volume of the Wuhe Expressway has grown rapidly, with an annual growth rate maintained at over 10%. In particular, the proportion of heavy trucks is relatively large, which has seriously affected the driving conditions and safety of the Wuhe Expressway. The implementation of this project will play a huge role in improving the province's transportation network, accelerating economic construction, and promoting economic development along the route.
