The Dawa–Longcheng 220 kV line project starts from the 220 kV double-circuit outgoing lines of the Dawa substation and runs eastward, crossing the Dasha River and continuing east; north of Jiangliyuan Village the line turns east-northeast, crosses the Xuji Expressway, passes between Chenmiao and Qianmiao villages, runs eastward south of Dalilou Village, crosses the Huangyan I and Huangyan II lines and continues east; south of Gengmiao Village the line crosses the Xupei Railway and then the Xupei Highway, turns north and passes west of Fangcun Village, and near Beiwuzhuang connects to the 220 kV side gantry of the 220 kV Longcheng substation.
The project uses double-circuit towers on the same tower. The conductors are 2×JL/G1A-400/35 steel-cored aluminum stranded wire, and both shield wires are 36-core OPGW; JLB40-150 aluminum-clad steel stranded wire is additionally strung on the substation entry spans. The line has 83 towers in total, including 62 suspension towers and 21 tension towers, with a line length of 34 km.

The tower foundation was constructed entirely with mechanized operations. The drilling equipment used was the KR80 fully hydraulic rotary drilling rig manufactured by Taixin Machinery, with a maximum drilling diameter of 1 m, a drilling depth of 28 m and a weight of 24 t, meeting the requirements of the vast majority of tower foundation construction. The rotary drilling rig is transported as a whole with its drill pipe, requiring only one flatbed truck; changing from working state to transport state and then driving itself onto the flatbed takes only half an hour, and after arriving at the site, changing from unloading to working state takes only half an hour. By contrast, other drilling rigs require a full day for disassembly and assembly, need additional auxiliary lifting equipment, and require two flatbed trucks for transport. This greatly saves transport costs and increases construction efficiency.

The G38 foundation currently under construction has been completed. The borehole diameter is 800 mm and the depth is 11 m, with mud slurry wall protection. Drilling is highly efficient, cutting construction time by nearly two times. State Grid construction personnel and engineering technicians spoke highly of it.
