Recently, the Lixin Tunnel of the Wan-Gan Railway Capacity Expansion and Renovation Project, constructed by No.1 Company of China Railway Shanghai Engineering Bureau, achieved breakthrough. The Lixin Tunnel has a total length of 447 meters, with a large cross-section, poor surrounding rock, and shallow cover. The project department actively adopted the principles of the New Austrian Tunnelling Method, the open-cut method, advanced long pipe roof support, and the three-bench four-step excavation method to organize construction, while vigorously strengthening safety and quality management, ultimately ensuring the safe and smooth breakthrough of the Lixin Tunnel.
